FSSAI Registration Process | |
The FSSAI registration process in India is mandatory for all food business operators (FBOs) who are involved in manufacturing, processing, packaging, or distributing food items. The process of registration involves the submission of an online application along with documents such as proof of identity, proof of address, and details of the food business. Upon receipt of the application, the FSSAI will conduct an inspection of the premises and verify the food safety management system put in place by the FBO. Once the inspection is successfully completed, the FSSAI will grant a unique 14-digit registration number which needs to be prominently displayed on all food items produced or sold by the FBO. The registration is valid for five years and needs to be renewed before the expiry date to avoid any penalties. This process ensures that all food businesses in India adhere to the standards of food safety and hygiene to protect public safety and health. | |
