The National Pension System (NPS) is a voluntary defined contribution pension system that is administrated and regulated by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority(PFRDA). This pension cum investment scheme aims to encourage Indian citizens to secure their future through systematic savings. Under NPS individual savings are pooled into a pension fund and invested by professional fund managers -in accordance with the approved investment guidelines. On behalf of investors the PFRDA regulated pension fund managers invest the accumulated fund across diversified portifolios including Government Bonds, Bills, Corporate Debentures and Shares. Contributions grow and accumulate over the years based on the returns earned on the investment. | |
