Global Electronic Warfare Aircraft Market Report
Depending on the requirements of the current mission, an electronic warfare aircraft may choose to use jamming pods. With certain EW pods, the aircraft can locate the sources of electromagnetic signals. Another characteristic of EW aircraft that enables them to maintain contact with friendly forces while blocking enemy communications is their self-jamming defences. Radar technology called AESA (Active Electronic Scanned Array) will target specific directions in order to jam next-generation jammers. EW aircraft can act as a force multiplier when used with traditional attack aircraft. With their anti-radar missiles, EW aircraft will be able to rapidly detect, jam, and destroy enemy radar units as part of the suppression of enemy air defence (SEAD) mission.
