The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) filed in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, seeking enhanced security measures for tourists. The bench came down heavily on the petitioner, saying that the petition appears to be aimed at gaining publicity rather than addressing any genuine public concern. The court said that the petition lacks substance and does not require judicial intervention.
