Atosiban | |
Atosiban is a combined receptor antagonist of contractin and pressor V1A. The structure of contractin receptor and pressor V1A receptor is similar. When the contractin receptor is blocked, the contractin can still act through the V1A receptor, so it is necessary to block both of the above two receptor pathways, and a single antagonist of a receptor can effectively inhibit uterine contraction. This is one of the main reasons why beta agonists, calcium channel blockers and prostaglandin synthase inhibitors cannot effectively inhibit uterine contractions. Atosiban, as a combined receptor antagonist of contraction and pressor V1A, has a similar chemical structure and a high affinity for the receptors, competitively binding to the receptors of contraction and pressor V1A, thus blocking the pathways of contraction and pressor and reducing uterine contractions.
